FFXIV Beta Screenshots

Ok, in order to properly pump you guys up for FFXIV, I feel some screenies are in order. Thal let me hop on his FFXIV Closed-Beta account yesterday and while I was at it I took a few screenshots to give anyone the inside look. I'll try and get Thal to take some daily or whatever. We'll see what happens...so without further ado, let's get these posted! Lemme know what ya think.

A Guildleve Crystal. These are where you get your missions. They also heal you to full whenever you touch them and you can also set them as your Home Point (if I remember right)

Here's a bunch of Thalamant, mostly different angles so that Kai could make my sig :)

Next to a Taru, the symbol next to his name is the new Linkshell emblem. You'll see the temp one I made later on.


"Active Stance"


Me targeting a quest mob. Notice the symbol? It means that its MY mob for MY quest. No one can see it when I'm not already fighting it. So no one can steal mobs that you're working for quests.


Similar picture without the target ring in the way.


Notice the "Area of Effect" sign in the center? Supposed to be there to let us know the spell I'm casting is AoE. Also I'm supposed to be able to toggle between single target and aoe, but I haven't figured that out yet.

Blizzard.


Wanted you to see the point allotment screen. After you get "Physical Level" ups you get 6 points to allot into various stats. You also get 6 to allot to elemental affinity.


Inventory window.


Equipment and Attributes window.


Actions window. This is where you'll equip various abilities you've learned. As you can see you get so many max points you can use depending on your physical level I believe. So there is a limit to how many abilities you can have equipped at a time.


Map screen. Notice its semi translucent so you can run with the map open.


Me next to aetheryte crystal at Camp Bearded Rock. Also two tarus with Linkshells.


Some scenery.


Found the NPC to make linkhsells with. Seems free atm but that could be a beta thing. This screenie shows the different emblem shapes. After you pick a shape you get a couple color variants to choose from.


I made a linkshell called Twilight Edge so no one gets any crazy ideas about using Sacred Dawn. I'll create the SD when it goes live at release and invite everyone.

I found this NPC that seems to sell abilities/spells for Conjurer using Faction Marks. I don't know how to get those yet.

Thal, I think I remember in a cutscene a guy mentioned something about "aeroships". Mayhaps this is one?

Screenshots are nice. But if you could post some gameplay vids that would be even nicer. That is if its possible for you to do. :)

If you look REAL hard at the center of the screen shot you can see a character. Fascinating, absolutely marvelous.

I can't see it.. Is it a Lalafell?

On a serious note, I will be uploading pictures like crazy either tomorrow or maybe a few tonight.

Let's just hope they keep it this time...big numbers make us happy. Idk about you but being cap level and only doing 1500-1700 DMG on FFXI with merits doesn't really make you feel like a badass. As long as they aren't TOO high like Vanguard had. I think I saw people who were doing damage in the hundreds of thousands.

Yeah you can zoom in. I don't need to zoom in 'cuz I got 25.5" monitor.

I took a bunch of pictures, but I put up the cutest picture first.

Also, I tried to make my Miqo'te to look like me. Except she's the "tall," which I am actually "medium height" in reality. Plus she doesn't have glasses. :( Well I don't need them in real life, so I guess that's okay.

Yes but what place would consider lots of Roegaydn as "Heaven"?..hmm. Anyway, Thal says there is actually screenshot feature now so you don't need to use powerpoint - probably a screenshot folder in your installation folder.

I just did the printscreen button and loaded them through paint... but maybe they got saved anyway... dunno.

Btw Kai, did you notice? I was sitting! There is a sit feature =P

I did see that :D there shall be lots of sitting to do! Even if that might be an annoying way to sit..they should change it based off if you're against a wall or something >:O or at least have different sitting options D: Either way, I'm glad we'll be able to
