The game is overwhelming enough as it is.

every time i try to start up the client it crashes.....ive looked up my error online and it says that it may be due to my graphics card....so i guess i gotta upgrade to play the beta

yea even to just play the beta you need the same req. graphics is a 9600GT or higher

I think Ronnok also needs a new processor. His is a pentium 4 3.20 GHz but even though the GHz are so high he's still gonna need to upgrade to at least a duo is he not?

my dl client stopped at friggin 99.2% randomly starts back up with 1-8kb/s......friggin stupid

I was just at compusa yesterday, it costs just as much for a duo as it does an i3, problem is your motherboard probably isn't compatible with an i3 processor, and idk if it is with a duo. I'll look it up for you and see if I can't find out if the socket type for pentium 4 and duo are different

Yeah, that's pretty good actually. i3 processors are awesome. You could also look into AMD motherboards though, I just got one yesterday with a 99 dollar AMD athlon II x4 635 2.9 GHz at compusa and 4 gigs of DDR2 800MHz RAM (64bucks+tax). I'd buy them on newegg though if you can wait a week. The tax on all that bumped it up so much - it ended up being like 330 dollars (when you include what my brother had to pay for my motherboard). Newegg a lot of their items are tax-free and some will even be free shipping sometimes, or like 2 bucks. Just gotta do research. I3 is good but that one is only a dual core, whereas the AMD one is a quad core for 20 bucks less

Ok seriousy... the damn dl got to 99.7% and it's now at a full standstill....keeps telling me after a while that its timed out....

Also, if you're looking for computer parts, you can check Newegg, but you can check compgeeks as well. Sometime they're prices are better than neweggs. Just compare.

Either way Ronnok, you won't be playing FFXIV anytime soon without a pretty much new computer.

He's got a mobo that accept PCI express so it can't be TOO old. And I've been looking around you might be able to get a duo processor with the same socket type. But no guarantees. You're still gonna end up spending about 200 dollars though. If anything connor you can just play at my house anytime you wanna play or something idk lol

ok so im in now. i started in limsa lominsa and im new to these kinda games. there seems like so much to do and i dont know which npcs to talk to. also is the game kinda laggy for u guys? if its not how do i lower my settings so that i get better performance.

Go to Start > Programs > Square Enix > Final Fantasy XIV config - you can setup your settings there. Also there should be a bar you walk into right after your first cutscene so

This minor update is ridiculous.... it's not even 1KB and it won't start to download either way I try it... There's just...... no words for that.....

On my new pc
running the beta installer now, sounds like i'm gonna have some fun.

It eventually worked, and theres another 9.5 ish MB download after that... if the downloader doesn't want to work just try my suggestion in the 9/5 post I made. It works for all downloads.

its been "downloading version update files" for H2010.08.30.2000 without actually downloading anything for quite some time now
