FFXIV Review

I kinda wish they hadn't reviewed it so early..IGN waited a whole 2 months before they reviewed Aion because they wanted to see progression in the game, now they wait 2 weeks to do this, and give it a less than spectacular rating..

While I do agree that the game currently is busted, I can see some big things coming from it. I just hope that we can see some real improvement in the game sometime soon.

Thoughts?

I really hope they fix everything in the upcoming future. I mean..everytime I log into wow now I look at the graphics and cringe. Its a sad thought that FFXIV wont be able to replace wow for me just because of the interface and lag issues.

It'll be fixed, we know it will be, it just depends on how long that'll be..Regardless of what happens though, I think we're all a community now, and I don't care what game we play, as long as we're all playin' it together :D

As harsh as the review is, I find myself agreeing with it. The issues will get patched, it's just a matter of when.

On a similar note, Aion, Vanguard, and even WoW were all pretty bad during beta / launch. Once the games get fixed up, then the review scores go back up. I'm considering my subscription money / time an investment for some more endgame fun in the future.

Yeah, I know they'll fix it, that's why I haven't unsub'd. That and I have been havin' fun crafting and going on adventures!

While poor reviews are bad PR for the game, if SE is paying ANY attention whatsoever to them then we'll benefit in the long run when they listen to the outcry and get to work fixing these things.

Even the JP reviews are giving them terrible ratings lol. I really don't foresee an "impending disaster" per say, but unless they take care of stuff fast, I don't see a lot of success coming XIV's way

lol well at least someones lit a fire under SE's butt. We should expect some major changes and soon. Otherwise SE is really dumb.

Well know SE is dumb, but also good at what they do...usually! I had a dream last night I was adventuring and couldn't get past the Wild Hogs :O It was terrible!

I think they should have given beta testers early access to "develop" the economy prior to release, and that they should have waited til December, the missing elements of the game are missing because they released it 3 months ahead of schedule. While I agree that if they didn't want the game reviewed, they shouldn't have released it, I also think that the game is going to be one hell of a lot different in 3, 6, 12 months than it is now.

Yea I agree with you on that Haze. It's definitely going to have big improvements within the near future. But in their hurry to beat the release date of Cataclysm on Dec 7, and DC Universe in about 2 - 3 months, I think they might have ended up leaving people so unimpressed that they will turn to those very MMOs in the long run. Not speaking for myself on the subject, I plan to play all of them, including XIV as they get their stuff together.

aye me too. I'm really excited to play a super-hero style MMO again. They're a different feel but it's so much fun. Plus Worgen is a tough thing to say no to...I agree - the impression they've left now probably only made those other games look BETTER in their eyes. =/ Let's all hope it doesn't end up that way, I have high hopes for this game.
