The Last Samurai
Inception
Just to name a few - I'll post more of them later on as this thread progresses. Now go, mah sweets >=D

Re: Movies Thread
You are well aware of my stance with "That" film franchise
the only anime film I can stand is Macross Plus, just for the story and music,
recently saw the Expendables, was a great good old style manly over-the-top roidfest, not one of them daft parkour ninja man films.
oh and i wanna see the new resident evil, even though i'm sure its going to be terrible

Hatred for M. Night Shamallamadingdong shall remain, enduring, for the evil he wrought with the Last Airbender.
So much hate... so... so much...
On the topic of movies I enjoy: the original Die Hard, Iron Man (and Iron Man 2, but I liked 1 better), the Phantom of the Opera, Grosse Point Blank (it's got a kind of zen resonance with me for some reason. I dunno. Cusack's role in this one just kinda rings true...), Iron Eagle, and the Last Samurai.
Anime movie titles? Appleseed Ex Machina (tis the sequel to the original Appleseed) and any of the Ghost In The Shell films.

Re: Movies Thread
I must also say that I despise M. Night Shamalan for his disgraceful and absolutely wretched rendition of The Last Airbender... He didn't even do the ending right, damn it!! SO BAD
*ahem*....
Generally, I'm a fan of just about any movie, but there are a few that I'll enjoy watching over and over. Recently Inception earned it's way on that list. I'm waiting for my school to bring it to their theatre so I can watch it again and it will cost me a mere $2 (free if my friends are working that night =x). I enjoy both Iron Man movies, Jumanji, the first Mummy movie (don't ask me about the third. Just don't.) I also like a movie called the Illusionist. The LotR series is nice every now and then, but I have to be in the mood to sit through a 3 hour movie. More if it's the extended edition. Hmm... Avatar's enjoyable, too, but again, gotta be in the mood for a long movie.
Animes: Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, 5 Centimeters Per Second, Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky, I think, and I hear My Neighbor Totoro is good, but I have yet to see it. =x

Re: Movies Thread
Allex we're watching The Illusionist next o.o/ After Karate Kid! I lurv the new one =o it's awesome. I also have to agree with Princess Mononoke! One of my favorites! Spirited Away was awesome, but it's pretty long, yet worth it. I love most of that guy's movies. I liked My Neighbor Totoro but not at much as his other movies..but I'm also a guy so I didn't get the "adorable" factor as much..I enjoyed Ponyo as well. :D

Re: Movies Thread
Miyazaki Hiyao. Amazing animator, the likes of Masamune Shirow. Hard to come across something one of the two did that wasn't good.
Please tell me that's the old Karate Kid. With Pat Morita? Else, I'm going to cry. Jackie Chan's cool and all, but damnit, Pat Morita is Mr. Miyagi and no one is going to say otherwise.
Hollywood needs to stop killing my sacred cows with remakes. If they announce a remake or sequel of Blazing Saddles under a new director, I'm going to protest, likely by slaughtering a cow in front of Miramax's front gates.
Fsck Miramax. Jay and Silent Bob are win.

Re: Movies Thread
lol in the new Karate Kid it's not the same story re-done. Jackie Chan plays as a janitor/handy-man that notices the kid's problem with the local chinese bullies so he teaches him how to defend himself. It's a completely different story - name isn't even miyagi. I liked the originals as well, but I still liked the new one too!
